A Piece of Art for the Arts

While architecture is something static, music knows no boundaries. The design of the cultural venue The Gong is inspired by the instrument and its long tradition in Cambodia. With this building, Cambodian music and art are finally given the opportunity to develop and refine their own cultural identity that radiates beyond the country’s borders.

The Gong is a design by the renowned architects internationally renowned architecture and design studio “atelier oï”. Founded in 1991 in Switzerland by Aurel Aebi, Armand Louis and Patrick Reymond, the company’s work today is characterised by its high level of innovation and meaningfulness. The office’s clients include numerous corporations and international top brands such as Nestlé, Louis Vuitton, Bulgari and SBB.
